Belated Update End of July

Have been catching h… for not updating reports and no good reason other than busy with grandson and thankfully to all my customers; business!

As I said in last update, I took my grandson and my buddy Bob grandson to Onslow Beach for 3 days. He caught his first fish in surf catching nice spot, sea mullet and small sharks. He loved it and is good at it too. We also took our fish heads to the waterway and caught his first crab by line and net.

This past Tuesday he caught a 26” trout all by his self on a 6’ Tsunami rod w/ a Tsunmi 1500 spinning reel. He was in shock when I netted it. Head also landed a 27” exactly slot drum that I hooked. We had a great afternoon.

My Wendell gang had a boat load of kids out this weekend and treated them to a good Saturday morning catch of trout. A lot off gulps bitten off by bluefish but GOOD for me!

Tarpon Tournament is done now, the Ole BiG Drum are here. I will be keeping a supply of Lupton rigs for drummers and remember circles, leader length and weigh are LAW now at night. If you need fresh bait – call early to assure availability.

Trout and drum are available in outer areas of river for those who want to sweat. Work top water, it has been productive. Live bait also working well but live shrimp have been hard to come by, I will be fully operation this fall with live shrimp but minnows will have to suffice for now.

My shop tournament starts Sept 16 and runs through Dec 16 and Shrine Club Tournament is 24 Oct. Get into some fun competition with chance to win a buck or 2.

Am authorized Power Pole and Costa Del Mar dealer now. Let me share my discount pricing on these and all bait, tackle and boating needs.

Call me if you need any additional information or care to charter a Fun day of safe fishing targeting trout, flounder or drum. Can also do trips to the Cape Lookout area for those desiring a good scenic trip too.
