South Padre Texas Hosted trip 2019

I spent October in S Padre Texas hosting 3 groups fishing Laguna Madre waters. This are is beautiful, full of skinny flats with loads of grass that requires new techniques to tackle the huge prey that can hide in it.  I solicited to help of several of our DOA Lures guides to show these anglers are and techniques sticking trout, reds, flounder and tarpon. Weather as the cold fronts drop can and did hamper us a few days but that is the Lords will.  You must adjust as our great guides did. My relaxation while anglers hit it with the guides. Oh – also had a private pool too. Great place to lounge and chill after day of fishing. I play chef – not but damn good cook! Breakfast lunch and supper every day. Suppers such as grilled pork roast, jambalaya, fish (plenty) and dove breast on grill. My big event is supper of local fare. I hired a local Mexican lady that cooks EVERYTHING from scratch – no cans. Wow. Real Mexican food at its best. And believe me. She has great pleasure in cooking for us and you wont go away hungry – hope leftovers ok with ya!

The jetties(short run to Rio Grande and border) are full of mullet as run is on. Tarpon, snook and loads of Big reds hang in them. Weather dictates fishability but awesome if can do.  In shore fishing in skinny waters holds trout, reds with huge opportunity for BIG fish – trout 30+ and huge schools red that we had up to 30” ish. If weather right sight casting a blast. Imagine casting at a huge school of over slot reds. Hook up in skinny water and hang on. No where to go but out or IN. watch the boat, say goodbye. Deeper water holds plenty and huge snook providing top water at its best. One am trip hooked approximately 40 really nice snook.

As and add, I arranged for 1 group to go dove hunting – off the shelf – limit out on big white wings full of sunflower seeds.  They wanted a Marichi band in the field after shoot with appetizers and beverages. Can and Did do.

To top it off. They also wanted massages. Well, I can arrange. Had a licensed massage therapist come rearrange their bones and muscles from the hard shooting and fishing,

Great time and place to hold a Team Building or group trip – comradery at its best

Don’t come here just for this, beautiful area to sight see, relax on the Gulf beaches and such.

Until next time (maybe March) Tight lines

New Business Plan

I have made a change in my shop and turning my business into Minn Kota and Power Pole sales, installs and Authorized Service Center as I have been doing of late. Also talking with Rhodan Trolling Motors as another possibility for my services.  Slowly clearing out may tackle inventory to keep focus on this.

I don’t have regular hours but can be reach by phone at 252 670-2841 to schedule or arrange for your needs. I am working plans on a new building on HWY 306 here in Minnesott as well with 2 bays.

The long-range plan is to have my grandson, Marcus. Who helps me now continue when I am unable?

Let me help you with all your trolling motor and power pole needs – professional sales, service and installs. Plenty of references if needed as well.

I will still be guiding as KneEDeeP Custom Charters and sharing my local knowledge as well as sharing the use and techniques for fishing DOA LURES. I also doing travel trips to regions I have found that are excellent angling opportunities and fun. Custom and Corporate trips not a problem.

I greatly appreciate all the patronage I have had over the years and look forward to continuing to assist all as needed with 100% satisfaction.

Chandeliar Island Hosted Trip

Capt Bobby Lewis allowed me and Mark Nichols to go out on a 2 day mother-ship trip after my hosted trip to do some DOA work and that we did! He sent his 24’ bay boat out for us to use and explore in. Can’t thank him enough. Day 1 Capt Austin – our Capt went with us and we showed him that DOA Lures can hurt Louisiana fish. Then 2nd Capt Austin joined us that afternoon and we did the same. Numerous doubles and triples on reds – quality fish – used about every style and colors DOA we had trying different things. This place is a Fish Haven! Ridiculous. At the end of the day me and Mark both said it was the most quality reds caught in one day for each of us – worn out! Did some exploring day 2 on our own and found some mudding reds on the flats in low water. Don’t get any better. Can put U on some great Crawfish or Casino time also!
2 trips planned for 2019 and taking deposits now. Let me know if you wanna have some fun.

Long Needed Update

Hopefully now the weather will warm and winds die down.

The trout and drum are wanting to move and this week should get it going. I did a short cast or too this afternoon before another scheduled function.

Found a few nice trout and one slot rock - All on DOA Deadly Shrimp. Water was low but few hungry fish on the prowl with rock in the box. This was one purdy Speckled snaggle tooth. Get ready for a great spring and summer.

It is not too early to think about Big Drumseason and if interested in a trip you better get with me.

I will post up my Chandeliar Island trip shortly - Stand By
