Busy Time Update

Quick update before I hit it again - another day on the water.

Have been sticking the Big Guys on DOA Popping Cork the past week  - Hightower Invitational went great with one of my guys Lil Joe Poesy of California getting the big fish prize on my boat - 53" and helping break me down with a handle of Titos!

These guys are a hoot! I label them as the Bonaza Bunch - Haus (Big Joe) Lil Joe Poesy and Adam....

Got the Wells boys hooked up too!

Enjoy all pictures and get in the action - still have a FEW September openings.

Mid AUgust Update

Drum season has set in but still needs major improvements. The bait is not as thick as we want and drum scattered at best but still providing some great excitement.
Bait has taken the lead currently for hooking up on these beasts. Fresh Mullet and menhaden soaked on bottom on shoal ledges doing the best – skinny water working well now too.
DOA Popping corking is working also but having to work extra hard finding bait areas to fish – should improve real soon.
The Rock are still very active in New Bern on top water. Get out early Am or late PM for the best action – Watch for birds – may find a school feeding under bait now too.
There has been good showing of small pups and flounder with a few small trout moved in along the river shore. Lot of fun but hope they grow and reproduce!
I have some openings in September for Old Drum and booking fall Rock and Trout trips into fall.
Pictures are Rebecca Johnson of Murphy NC with a 41 inch , Richard Capps of Rocky Mt Va with a 47 inch  and Allen Vasser a 46er

Drum Update

Drum action was good this weekend - DOA Popping Cork and Fresh mullet on bottom. Weather made it tough though. Fresh Mullet has been a challenge too,

If you wanna get out and experience this action I have limited Aug dates and some September yet to fill.

Also - get with me by Wednesday evening for mullet orders - been hard to get at this point but will do my best to get the freshest mullet available

I have loads of DOA Popping Cork Rigs and accesories and Drum Combos - Bait and Cork to put you on the fish

2015 Big Drum Season

Well. My Big Drum season has officially opened! Went 1 for 2 today (Saturday) with the Van Dyke family.
Tom and family are an avid fishing family and fish all over the world but never caught any of these beast. He got first one measuring 41”. Second was with Tiana at the rod but hatefully came unpinned. Only one but it’s a start.
Friday we fished light tackle and as is all fishing – it was slow. We did manage to catch a few short pups and several flounder with Tiana getting her first ever.
They are a great fishing family – a real enjoyment to have on boards.
Oh, look at what happened in my livewell. Evidently there was a small bass in my minnows that wanted to eat a mullet! More Than A Mouth Full!!!! Awesome nature at its best.
