Thanksgiving 2014

The trout were as hungry as humans this Thanksgiving.

Took my annual T’Day trip with my brother in law Mike Seigh accompanying me for a short am trip before the feast. He shut me out but that’s my game on my boat – let others catch fish! Several nice quality trout then home for a feed.

Friday was the return of TATE GAREY! He and his brother in law Joe Gannon had a great time in the wind (thanks Power Pole) catching some really nice trout in 20“range as well as missing many due to wind. And it was cold too!

Worked out well though and great to have a TV celebrity on board – Yes Joe is doing a great promotional video deal with Maxwell House on “Made Right Here”. All about made in the USA –love it.

Next weeks weather looking great – trout are hungry and fat! Call me if you would like to go.

New shipment of TFO rods and Daiwa reels in for your Holiday gifts.

Be safe on water – won’t last long overboard!

Awesome Pre T’Day Events

It has been several interesting days around the shop and on the water.

Minn Kota repairs have been increasing daily and glad I can turn them around fairly quick.

Black Friday is close by – I will have DOA Shrimp trays available in shop this weekend - just $17.99 for about $28.00 woth of normal Shrimp packs plus get a tackle tray. Only have 20 coming!

I had the second citation come in this week with Robert Tyndall managing only one trout on his trip but wow- weighed in at 7.32 lbs with a 15 inch girth.
Took my buddy Barnacle Bob out Saturday for an afternoon trip in search of rock but ended up with all but a double limit of really nice trout.
Sunday was with my regular buddy Stuart Creighton – rain didn’t stop us nor the trout. Struggled the first couple of hours but find them we did. Nailed upper double digit 3 lb class fish – tagging several for the program.

Fishing is at its best right now.

If you wanna go – call me – I still have about 4 days  available through Dec and offering 6hours at $400 for my last few trips. Call soon.

Tagging Trip

The trout bite is heating up – gotta move around but find one u will find 2, 3, …….. And the size is great, lots of 16-mid 20s fish. Did a tagging trip solo and had a fairly slow day – 8 nice trout – tagging 6 and deep frying 2. Largest was the thick 22 inch that got tagged and released. I like eating the 16-18ers. Fishing DOA CALS and the Contentnea Creek hard plastics.
Still room in my schedule for a couple of trips – email me your desires – specfever@hotmail.com

Early November Report

Had an excellent morning with Don and his son in law Sgt Blake of USMC. Started with am top water trout and ended up with numerous real nice trout up to 21 on subsurface hard plastics - biggest coming on Contentnea Creeks Custom lure

- Hope this is a sign to come for the fall with cooler temps. I have got a few dates open through December for anyone wanting to target these trout or hit the rock top water in am and move to trout later.

November Charter Special

With the current Neuse River conditions I have decided to do a November Trip Special for a limited number of trips based on fishery status conditions up river.

I will do a 3-4 hour top water and jigging for rock in New Bern area and then take up and head down river or to Bay River in search of trout  for an additional 3-4 hours - breaking for lunch or nap!

$500 special rate for a limited number of trips on a first come basis.

Hopefully river will stage up one day as normal but until LETS DO IT!
