Update late August

Relentless wind can’t stop my clients – even if I try to cancel them out!
Scott and his insurance crew wouldn’t give up and worked out to be a great trip. Stuck 1 big drum early before wind really got up at 46 inches on a DOA Popping Cork/Airhead rig. His first ever being an up state river fly guy.
Then on to slots. We had a time finding bait but finally did and it was on – several fish caught with a limit of around 24 inch fish and on released at 28 ½. Wet ride in but had to cool clients down!
Great time with Scott Kornegay, Matt Summerell and Brian Pratt.
Come join me!

Mid August Update

Shop has been extremely busy as has my charter services - tough keeping up.

I picked up Minn Kota Authorized Service Center a few weeks back and have been having a steadly flow of motor work coming in to work when not on charters. I aim to turn your motor out in 2 weeks with parts availablity not becoming an issue.

Charters have been stronger than I am used to and my new Key West 23 Bay Reef has made it much easier to get out.

Duane Coen got his on DOA Airhead Popping Cork Rigs, Tim Thompson and son Spencer hit a double on fresh mulett. I took Frank Trent and gang out for some great slot action also. I still have some September days open for Big Drum and starting to book out into Oct and Nov for a great trout and rock season - Call me to get aboard!

The shop has been pushing fresh mullet and DOA products out the door. Thanks to my wife we are keeping up fairly well. I am taking weekly mullet orders by phone or email - let me know and I will have your fresh bait waiting on you. You can get your chum, rigs and gear here as well.

Season is on so come enjoy it!

Awesome 2 Days with great Clients

Thanks to Goose Creek Marine for setting me up with my new 23 Key West Bay Reef! Would never have been able to do my last few trips with my old boat – what a different it makes.
Slot and OVER slot drum has been the deal – and loads of them. Great rod bending fun that cant be beat.
I had my repeats and friends Kip and Elaine Anderson on board the 29th and we pounded our way down river but man it was worth it. We had numerous drum in the upper inches of slot and a couple of really nice flounder working shoreline relying on the Power Pole to hold us in position to fish.  We had a couple of doubles as well with Elaine getting the bigger fish!!!!! Great day with great clients.
On the 30th I had Jim Root, his son Capt Jason and grandson Gavin on board – another beat out=r way down river – seem to be the norm this year.
Man did we do it up. We had loads of drum with several nudging over 29inch and on m/l tackle – WOW is all I can say. They also were a NO keep family want only to catch and release which we did with 100% survival. We did manage one large flounder that they decided to keep and eat that night. Great time had and glad to send Capt Jason and Gavin back to Kentucky with some great memories. Quality family time!
Off the water a few days getting shop caught up – if you need any baits tackle or gear let me know.
I have confirmed 4 big drum caught Wednesday night so we are getting into to gear – daily waiting for full bore.
I have a couple of days left in August for Drum trips and several days in Sept but I am getting contacts daily so get on board. I will be taking orders for mullet once I get enough demand. I will do as always by having your fresh bait ready when u get here. Chum in freezer and rigs on wall along with Daiwa Opus Pulse Combos for the bait fishing outfit and TFO/Daiwa combos for DOA Popping Cork rigging. And dont forget your Floating Drum Stix to measure fish in water.
Give me a call – and Oh – I am now up and running as a Minn Kota Authorized Service Center for all your Minn Kota needs.
