Super Bowl Update

As I set in the house awaiting event and watching the rain, it is time for an update.
I connected in on the meeting in Raleigh this week and listened to both sides on HB353 Bill now. There were more solid points presented by recreational concerns than commercial. The comment that bill would detour individuals to go to a restaurant and get these fishes is mute. I don’t know of many that even serve these regularly. Flounder is the #1 fish ordered. Anyway, the Appropriations Committee said that the next meeting would provide some recommendations on the issue.
Trout and rock are still around for catching if you have patience and are mobile. I had a trip Saturday that start slow, very subtle bites causing me to move to another creek in search of a tug on the line for my clients. Finally found a pod of small fish with a legal slot (16 1/2) mixed in. Picture shows what can be caught from small to upper. Both of these fish were tagged thanks to my clients’ desire along with several others. We probably had 20+ fish total. It is fun fishing and a great future for spring. I caught trout on my new Rapala Xrap subwalk. First time I used it and it is productive bait. I have a wall lined with them too if you want any.
It’s time to start your planning for spring and summer charters. We should have a great spring with trout and hopefully drum as well as rock as the move back down after spawn. And Old Drum season should be as fundamental as last year. I already getting bookings these so get on board.
From the shop, I am an authorized repair center for Water Snake trolling motors and will have one on my Key West soon. They are just as reliable as others at a lesser price. Warranty is the same as well. I can help you with other accessories too; Minn Kota, Power Pole, Stick It Poles, Bobs Machine Shop Jack Plates and so on. Installs too. I stocked up my DOA and Rapala inventory to cover all local needs as well as TFP Gary Loomis 7’ rods in medium and medium light. Daiwa has come out with a new AIRD spinning real that I will be carrying as Excelors stock drops.
I have applied for my Federal Firearms License with hopes of helping with your gun purchases too. Should be a couple of weeks from now.
Now back to the Super Bowl. I don’t have a favorite in this event but sure hate Patriots. GO GIANTS!
