Late August and DOA Report

imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage

Had a very good time fishing with Mark Nichols (DOA Owner) this week. Wife and I spend a day on his boat fishing flats on Indian River in Stuart Florida. We caught trout, lady fish and jacks on DOA shrimp and BFL baits. Fished Terroreyes for snook but no takers.  He worked hard to put us on some of the 10# trout in the area but wasn’t to be. The bait situation there is phenomenal; acres of mullet of all sizes. His knowledge of his baits and waters was great to see. He does a lot of fishing articles and shows deservingly so. You talk about fun trip, he talks more trash than me. Kept us in tears. I have invited him to come fish our fall/winter trout with me. May get this to happen. I am going to fish more DOAs and especially the BFL 5 ½ and 3 ½ coming soon. They have an excellent action looking exactly like a mullet. I watch fish chase and hit it of all sizes. Can be fish top water or down based on how rigged and action used.

Also need to share the accommodations he put us up in. They are the River Palms Fish Camp in Jensen Beach area. It is situated right on Indian River with a pier, tiki bar hut, pool and cottages/rooms. The tiki bar is decorated with fish stuff and used by all to cook their catch and tell lies. I am definitely going back and staying there with my boat. Awesome fishery in the area and great place to stay. You can check them out by search their website.

Back to local – old drum still the taker. Waiting for cooler weather to fire up trout and hopefully get us through this weather season without event.

If you need fresh mullet for drum, call me in advance with your order. If you order you are required to pay for it. I can’t do anything with old mullet to get my money back, so please pay for what you order even if you change you plans.

Live shrimp should be available soon. I have all the tackle and accessories need for live shrimp survival and fishing.
Get your best discounts with me on your Power Pole, Costa del Mar, and trolling motors. I am also working on distributorship Yeti (old IceyTek) coolers.

Remember to always take your kids fishing.
